The label (and shop) that brought you the fantastic 7×7 series last year with tunes from and Onra reveals its plans for 2010 with this 30 minute preview mix by OmUnit.

Taking in beats from Take, Hud Mo, Dimlite, Onra, Snowman, Pudgem, Mweslee and more, it’s a great taster of what’s to come from them.

A preview of some new albums hitting soon informs the 13 tracks on our 29th podcast. You’ll no doubt be getting acquainted with Contra at the moment if not, ‘Run’ exemplifies how much Vampire Weekend have advanced while still sounding like old. We’ve got tracks from Jesca Hoop’s brilliant album Hunting My Dress (also playing Dublin, Belfast and Galway in February), Bullion’s new single, a preview of Sam Amidon’s new one, a stonking rap number from Jay Electronica, an etheral, spooky cut from JJ, a beautiful soaring single from Frightened Rabbit, a track from James Pants’ new one Seven Seals as well as Laura Veirs and Rick Rubin-produced rising folk lads The Avett Brothers.

Aoife Mc is your podcast host – check out her food blog – I Can Has Cook? and of course her new radio show Right Click Radio on 2XM.

atlrmx Adult Swim and Rockstar Games have teamed up to release ATL RMX a mixtape of remixes of Atlanta rappers like Young Jeezy, Lil Jon, Gucci Mane, Cee-Lo, Pill and more from the likes of El-P, Mad Decent, Dabrye, Memory Tapes, XXXChange, Flying Lotus, Phaseone, Hudson Mohawke, SALEM, HEALTH, Dam Funk and more.

Big props to whomever put this one together.

A 30 minute film of the Warp 20 NYC featuring interviews and performances from Jamie Lidell, Born Ruffians, !!! (RIP Jerry Fuchs), Hudson Mohawke, Pivot, Chris Clark, new signees The Hundred in the Hands, Flying Lotus and Battles (can’t wait for this).

Seriously, when is Fly Lo coming to Ireland?

Hudeson Mohawke

Sweet cover. Hudson Mohawke’s debut Butter is out on October 9th in Ireland (12th UK) on Warp. Regular and “Spreadable” versions of the album are available. The artwork is a collaboration between Konx Om Pax and Dom Sum from LuckyMe.

You can download an MP3 sampler here. Love the Whitney Huston intro.

Here’s the previously posted ‘Rising 5′.

zomby

Both of these exciting UK producers debuted tracks through XLR8R yesterday.

Zomby’s ‘Helter Skelter’ will come as no surprise to those who have heard the likes of ‘1 Up’ and ‘Spaceman’ with its off-kilter arpeggio video-game hypno-synth. It’s from the forthcoming mini-album One Foot Ahead of the Other which is out in September. Read his entertaining press release at Adnans. A round of applause for that cover art too.

MP3: Zomby – Helter Skelter

Hud Mo’s new cut meanwhile has an old-school soul jam band feel. I’m half expecting Erykah Badu to show up and blast her tonsils over this one. It’s taken from forthcoming album Butter out in October and a couple of new tracks are on his Myspace. Fact reports that it includes a collaboration with Dam Funk.

oxoegen That’s right y’all. Thanks to Bacardi who will be bringing the Bacardi B-Live Stage back to Oxegen 2009 on July 10th -12th (next weekend) we are giving away a pair of camping tickets with the added bonus of unlimited access to the Bacardi B-Live VIP arena, for when you need to find a comfy seat and a cocktail on site with DJs like Beardyman, Horse Meat Disco, Dublin Streets, Soundcheck, Filthy Dukes and A Skillz on hand if ya fancy a wee dance.

Oxegen has a completely stonking lineup this year and personally I cannot wait to see Friendly Fires, Foals, Pendulum, Hudson Mohawke, Fever Ray, Mogwai, Jamie Woon, Onra, Goldielocks, Aeroplane, Mumford & Sons, Blur, Little Boots, St. Vincent and on and on. Of course, I’m DJing on Sunday in the Dance Arena at 3.20pm before Fever Ray so look out for that obviously ;)

All you have to do answer the question below in the comments:

What has been the best live act you’ve ever seen at Oxegen and why?

The best answer wins the pair of tickets. You can include Witnness live acts as well if you want. If you’ve never been to Oxegen, tell us the best festival set and you’ve ever seen. Comment lines closed on Tuesday the 7th at noon. Get scribblin’.

You can also win tickets here and here.

hudmo I got some totally amazing random news today. I’ve been asked to DJ before Fever Ray’s set in the Dance Arena on the Sunday at Oxegen!

MENTAL! Should be a great opportunity to drop some atmospheric dubstep and electronic music prior to the set. For all those wondering, the reason she is playing in the shed is because her elaborate stage setup and show requires complete darkness. Plus, it’s got major lasers.

To segue nicely into the comp, Hudson Mohawke is also playing the Dance Arena on the Sunday but before that he plays this Saturday in the Twisted Pepper along with Mike Slott and special guest DJ Mamiko Motto (Kindred Spirits) and I’ve got two double passes to giveaway.

All you have to do is keep it childish and post your favourite animated GIF in the comments. The best two win tickets. A track for listening from the excellent Polyfolk Dance EP is in the read more. Choice Cuts are also running a Horace Andy/Ashley Beedle remix competition where the winner gets a release on the 7″. More inrfo here. More..»

Our quarter-century podcast is all about new releases. We’ve got superb new tasty tunes from Hudson Mohawke, Montreal’s Clues (whose debut is worth checking out), a song from the already-lauded Suckers EP, a song from the new Starfucker EPlum, a track from David Kitt’s new one The Nightsaver and towards the dancier end of the spectrum: brand new tunes from Clark, Moderat, The Juan Maclean and I shit you not, a surprising song from the Twilight soundtrack.
