After its initial listen, ‘Fall 4 U’ is a bit disconcerting as it is completely rooted in total sopping wet drippy AM balladry. Repeated listens reveal a gorgeous neon sheen and some wonderful production so the ’80s radio earnestness takes a back seat. The Balearic synth workout and Glasser’s uncharacteristic straight-forward contribution seal the deal.
Plus, the new Chad Valley album Young Hunger out October in North America and November in Europe also features Twin Shadow, El Perro del Mar, Active Child and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Good job Hugo Manuel.
