Below is a list of my favourite records of the last ten years. Ranking these albums was led by a) what the album means to me and b) how often I’d listen to it. Each and every one of these albums blew me away repeatedly at some time between the ages of 18 and 27. Each one has something special going for it, something magical that brings me back to it. For that I can only thank the creators of each. Without further ado, here are my favourite 50 albums from the decade. And remember, you can’t be wrong if they are your favourites.

I covered these Bangor boys back in May when they appeared on the Kitsune 7 compilation.
This is the brilliant first single proper which is released on 23rd November through Kitsune. Containing taut rhythmic Foals-esque breakdowns and a guitar wielded like a blade, it’s an extremely accomplished debut single.
If I had to pick one Irish band to watch in 2010 right now, it would be this lot. Look out for the debut album in February 2010.
THAT’S THE NEXT DECADE FOLKS.
So a few weeks ago, I travelled to Paris courtesy of Eurostar and We Are Social where I went to the Rock en Seine festival. You can see the full report here. Now the same nice people are kindly offering a Nialler9 reader a free pair of Eurostar tickets to either Paris, Brussels or Lille. Your choice. It’s all part of their Little Break Big Difference campaign.
Once you get to your destination, you can do anything you like or travel a bit further afield. In the more, I’ve compiled a list of gigs taking place in each city which includes shows from Pixies, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Fuck Buttons, Massive Attack, Andrew Bird, Grizzly Bear, Sonic Youth and loads more. Or you can just chill in the city for the duration of your stay. More ideas here .

Get those Ray Bans on kids and give a big hand to The Drums for kicking off the week with this infectious surf-rocking anthem. So simple yet so effective. The Drums are a Florida band currently based in Brooklyn. Their first show ever was reviewed by Brooklynvegan (how zeitgeisty). The rest of their material has more than a smattering of an 80s influence.
