El-P returns to Dublin to play Cargo
Aug 20 2007Tucked away in the listings section of the Pod website is the announcement that El-P will be coming back on September 29th (same weekend as HWCH) to play the newly refurbished (by then) TBMC venue (then to be rechristened Cargo) with support from Deep Burial. €15 a ticket.
The Sunday Business Post reported about the venue changeover yesterday:
Separately, it has emerged that Reynolds, with nightclub and restaurant owner Eoin Foyle, are investing €700,000 in redeveloping the Temple Bar Music Centre in Dublin into a 750-seater venue.
The revamped music venue will be renamed Cargo and will open next month. Reynolds and Foyle purchased a 50 per cent stake in the venue from recording studio boss Paddy Dunning, who has owned the centre for ten years.
I hope those seats aren’t permanent or this will tear the atmosphere out of the place.

6You’re right Mike, it’s just fixed seats on balcony. The rest is standing with overall capacity at 750. Sounds like it’ll be an easier venue to get around.
