Gigs of interest…Feist & James Murphy
Jul 03 2007
Despite never making it to Ireland with Broken Social Scene, Feist will be playing Tripod in Dublin on the 25th of September, just three days before my burfday! Awesome. The Reminder is a great album in anyone’s book. Members of my family have been playing it a lot which is cool and shows Feist’s appeal. Tickets on sale on Wednesday 11th July @ 9am.
Also, I was told last night that James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) will be manning the decks at Antics in Crawdaddy the day before the band’s Electric Picnic show (29th August)!

Excellent remix man. Know where it can be found? Legally.
1Nope. Had a look around, I don’t think it can be bought
2Arroooooo! Feist in Dublin! I’m sure she will be the lady to help me warm to tripod.
3When are tickets on sale for this?
4Probs in the next few weeks.
5great remix, that!
If all goes well I’ll be in posession of a brand new 5-day-old child by the time James Murphy is on the decks. so I probably won’t be going to that
6Congrats Justin!
7cheers
8ditto justin, here’s hopin it all goes well!
9Feist’s website says the tickets are on sale July 4th, but there’s no clicky link for the Dublin gig on the sire and no mention on Ticketbastard.
Lots of good gigs coming up in Tripod in the next few months, the sound can’t possibly be awful at all fo them. Or can it…
10Tickets on sale tomorrow 9am
11LCD are playing Tripod on Saturday 20 October. Anyone know when tickets are on sale?
12Just downloaded the Feist album from 7digital (after waiting FOREVER for my stupid pc to load the site- Irish broadband, argh). It’s actually really good, defo going to try and catch the show- would you say I’ll still get a ticket?
13tickets are still available Maria!
14Fab, I’ll pick some up then. Really like the album- was shocked to find it on 7digital- they can be a bit hit and miss with stuff like that, but I’m tired of giving iTunes so much bloody business- they don’t need it!!
15ya, itunes is crock. i like emusic, it’s subscription based and there’s no feist but i can get a load of good stuff on it.
16Yeah, I’ve used eMusic before, but I can’t find what I want alot of the time on it. I like mainstream stuff as well as indie, and they don’t have some of the bigger names, which seems a bit elitest- a ‘we’re too cool’ to have Gwen Stefani kind of attitude!
17i think it’s actually more a case of major labels tied up to other music services such as iTunes. not sure though
18Yeah, I suppose it could be that. Far too much politics involved in all this downloading lark. Sometimes I feel like a credible band like Feist can’t get the online profile they need just because they are on a major label. Like you said eMusic didn’t have their material.
19Can’t wait for the gig on the 25th. ‘I Feel It All’ is absolutely class. I’d say they’d be great live - with them and John Butler on the 20th it’ll be some week for music in Dublin.
20And then the Police on October 6th! Happy Days!
