Apr 01 2006Check out this Podcast courtesy of Tim from Face of Today and 11 other bloggers who submitted their tracks based on the theme ‘One’. Each track is introduced by the relevant music blogger and the music contained within is an eclectic mix of artists from Nas to Geburt Einer Nation??`!!! I really enjoyed hearing Kinky Origami’s pick, Age of Rockets ‘Once were Monsters’ for the first time.
I saw the Redneck Manifesto for the first time last night finally after a score of people telling me to see them. They were excellent, an instrumental band with some great guitar interplay. I wasn’t anticipating the full-on mosh at the front though! However, i can’t help but think that they sound immensely better live than on record, but it may just be the nature of the music they are playing. I really like this song from ‘ Cut Your Heart Off From Your Head’ from 2003. I really enjoyed their double encore with the Dublin Guitar Quartet, who I first heard of on Sinead’s blog. They were exceptional. Full marks to Schroedersound and Waiting Room for some quality support acts too.

I was raging I couldn’t get to this, especially with the quality supports from Waiting Room and Schroedersound. I’m really looking forward to the album, Simon’s done some great stuff.
The Rednecks are excellent, I’ve seen them many times and one of my favourites is at 1.30 in the afternoon at the Electric Picnic. They blew the roof off. It’s a testament that so many hungover folk crawled out of their tents that early to see them.
1Thanks for linking up to the podacst. Hopefully we’ll get to hear your voice on it at some point in the future?
All the best, Tim
