Since November 2005, Nialler9 (pronounced like the river in Egypt – Nile-r) has been enthusing about the music he loves whether it be indie, electronica, hip-hop, folk, dubstep. Whatever – as long as it’s good. As Duke Ellington said “There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.” The blog has become an influential force on the Irish music scene and has led to Niall working for music magazines, national newspapers and a slot on the judging panel for the Choice Music Prize – the annual Irish album of the year award. Over 2000 people visit Nialler9 daily to catch up on the chronicle of musical delights contained within.
The site has been the recipient of 4 awards. Irish Blog Awards for Best Music Blog in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and most recently Best Music Site at the Irish Web Awards in 2009.
Contributors include Aoife Mc (voice of the Podcast) who also runs I Can Has Cook?.
Niall also runs State Magazine and works as a freelance web designer.
