About Nialler9
Since November 2005, Niall Byrne aka Nialler9 (pronounced like the river in Egypt – Nile-r) has been enthusing about the music he loves whether it be indie, electronica, hip-hop, folk, dubstep or rock. The genre doesn’t matter as long as it’s great. As Duke Ellington said “There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.”
Nialler9 is the most-read Irish music blog with around 35,000 unique visitors per month. The site has been a recipient of five consecutive awards in the Irish Blog Awards for Best Music Blog (2007-2011) as well as Best Music Site at the Irish Web Awards in 2009. Most recently, Nialler9 was voted the 5th Best Music Blog In The World in a poll of music blogging peers. Contributors include Aoife Mc (voice of the Podcast) who also runs I Can Has Cook? and the Right Click Radio show on RTE 2XM.

NIALLER’S influence on the blogosphere has all but spelt the end of traditional Irish music media. His blog is now more popular than the Hot Press website and his ability to tip the next big thing, along with providing an eclectic range of music and news from international artistes and an insightful take on the local indie scene, make him a bit of a muso hero. – Sunday Tribune – Ones to watch 08
