First single from Villagers‘ upcoming Domino debut album. Don’t forget where you heard him first. Thanks for Guesslist for the link. You’ll recognise this song from the live gigs last year. The video is directed by Ferry Gouw and ‘Becoming a Jackal’ will be released on limited edition 7” with the track ‘Twenty-Seven Strangers’ on Record Store Day (April 17th) with a digital download on April 26th.

    Weird vid, the vocals on the chorus sound a bit lifeless.
    Shame.

    Weird, not great but not bad at all. A little lifeless as was said. Very Conor Oberst-ish in places too. Hmm… I’m still dying to hear the album but this wouldn’t exactly heighten the expectation too much.

    Heard this when they played crawdaddy awhile back. The song live was great and full of life but the production seems to have stifled that alright!

    That line “You should wonder what i’m taking from you,How i benefit from you being here, Lending me your ears, Selling you my fears” Is one of the best lines ive heard in a long time.
