Looking for a nice mix for those summery days? You could do a lot worse than check out the April edition to the Fabric live series by DJ Format. Predominantly Funk and Hip Hop, it’s an excellent upbeat compilation featuring the likes of Cut Chemist, Lyrics Born, Coldcut, Ugly Duckling, Mr. Lif for the Hip Hop heads and Jimmy Smith, Brain Auger ,Reverend Cleatus & the Soul Saviours, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone for the funk,jazz and soul crowd.

Fabric, the London night club / record label always release top quality mixes from some of the best DJs around and at a rate of one a month there’s no shortage of them. Of the 27 in the series so far, my favourite (though I’ve not heard them all ) is Diplo’s. Other artists such as the Scratch Perverts, DJ Hype , Grooverider, Death in Vegas, Jmes Lavelle and the legendary radio DJ John Peel. Check out the full list here at the Fabric Website.

Also worth the recommendation is the weekly Solid Steel Podcast which has some cool one hour mixes from the Solid Steel regulars DJ Food, DK, James Holden, Mr Scruff, Coldcut, Zero DB, J Mountain and more.
