It happened again. Forget the Oscars for a minute , this is the Bloscars I’m talking about. I won a third Irish Blog Award over the weekend. I didn’t think it would be my year such was the calibre of the other shortlistees (Jim, Darragh, Kevin & State). The awards took place in the Cork International Airport Hotel, a hotel with the most kickass toilets I’ve ever been in. Seriously, you had to be there! And plenty of people were, it was fun to stick around and talk to couple of hundred bloggers and their friends until the early hours. Congrats to all the winners especially Raptureponies, Justin , The Sweary Lady , thanks for all the nice comments ( I think I should retire from the awards now!) and big props to Lord Mulley, Rick “Culch.ie” O’ Shea, Johnny from Downloadmusic.ie for sponsoring the category and everyone else for organising the awards in the first place. My only disappointment is not getting one of those “LEDGEBAG” badges that were floating about.

Right on with the programme – here’s a superb video by Danny Garcia for Flying Lotus’ ‘Infinitum’ featuring Laura Darlington.

Great to meet you Niall and 3-in-a-row is mighty damn impressive. No need to apologise for despondency at the breakfast table – I think everyone was suffering :) Hope ye didn’t have any trouble getting a flight back…

Raptureponies- and you! I so want to get those nialler9 badges.

Leigh – you just had to be there. the taps were fountains with touch sensitive hot and cold sliders, the urinals had flies painted into them so you could aim at them and the colour cycled in the ceiling lights amongst other things.

Daily Spud – thanks! good to meet you too. We got a train home in the end, read the newspapers all the way home.

    jaysus niall,
that’s something swish – by the way, i finally scrubbed my bathtub the other day; took me nearly 40 minutes and gave me cramps in my shoulder, but it was really worth it

    Thanks, Niall.

Congrats to you, well deserved as anyone who recognises passion and hard work will testify. Sorry I only got to see you at the end of the night when I was tottering around in a haze of red wine and starvation (really need more vegetarian options on the ould finger food!)
