The Empire of the Sun album is half shit, half brilliant. This Justin Timberlake-esque track is one of my favourites from the album which sways from horrendous to celestial.

I would have posted an MP3 but IRMA asked me to take down some major label related tunes last week so it won’t happen again without complete blessing.

Better quality on the Hype Machine.

for fuck’s sake. If the band or their label happen to read this comment, they should note that I’m not going to hear this tune now; normally I’d download the mp3 to my ipod or home machine to listen to later, since I’m in work right now, but because of their arsiness I can’t. so that’s one lost listener because of IRMA’s wrongheaded stupidity.

as a matter of interest, what were the tracks? I’d like to know if there’s any bands I should boycott as a result ;)

Mostly universal artists – q-tip, santogold, lykke li, ladyhawke, portishead.

then a couple of curveballs – tv on the radio and telepathe? not sure how that happened.

tv on the radio are signed to interscope which is owned by universal
telepathe are on i am sound, which is in reality a warner music US offshoot

    so that’s why…

I’m not really getting the JT vibe off this, but it’s still pretty interesting. I do swoon over the slightest hint of a Tetris noise, it has to be said.
