Official video what I just saw even though it’s been up on Vimeo for a month. I got the album on vinyl yesterday. It looks sweet.

My review of Merriweather is here.

What a brilliant song. It was an instant favourite when I first listened to the album.

Wow! I got goosebumps watching that. I never really ‘got’ Animal Collective stuff…not that I don’t think it’s good but I found it hard to get any sort of emotional connection to it at all, and I totally need that before I can say I really like a band.
This is awesome though, especially as it’s about Panda Bear’s family…maybe that’s what makes it ‘mean’ so much more than some of their other stuff. …

Where’d you get it on vinyl Niall? Need to pick that up myself!

    Amazing tune indeed.

Got in it City Discs in the end.

Good stuff, hope they got a few copies in! ;)

If I didn’t like that song I was going to get my ears tested, everyone was raving about it so much!!

What a tune. What the fuck is up with that video though?! I can kind of see what they were aiming for but it’s so poorly executed. Looks like some graphic design student’s first year project. Song deserves so much better…

It’s a pretty mighty tune alright. Haven’t been a huge fan of Animal Collective to this point, but thought Panda Bear hit some incredible heights on “Person Pitch” with the likes of Good Girl/Carrots and Bros. This is like a more euphoric version of his stuff. Not too mad about the video though, but at least it will get them deserved airplay.

You can currently listen to the whole album for free over on NPR’s music show, All Songs Considered

And they have a free podcast as well to download which has an interview with Animal Collective this week.
