Taking place in Andrew’s Lane from 11pm this Thursday, !Kaboogie and Foggy Notions present the Dublin debut of Canadian Matthew Pears aka Mad EP. His music takes in strands of hip-hop and jungle and is notable for his use of live cello on tracks. Some of his music sounds like Owen Pallett-esque baroque pop through a glitchy blender. Nice. Check his blog.

Ebola has been knocking out wonky electronic music on Wrong Music for years now dabbling in breakcore, gabber and recently, dubstep except with his own unique cosmic take on the genre. Remember that free Predator inspired breakcore EP he did? Classic. Download it at Netlab.

Completing the line-up is Ed Devane who lives around the corner from my gaff and has a homemade an impressive electronic stell guitar. Thursday though, will most likely see him play the type of set he presided over for Mantua (MP3) full of heavy spacey breaks and bass.

I’ve got two plus one guestlist spaces for the show on Thursday. To enter, answer this question below along with your full name. I’ll email the chosen people on Wednesday afternoon with their confirmation.

Which of the following is a fatal disease?
a. Mad EP
b. Ebola
c. Ed Devane

MP3

Mad EP – Bass Hed Revenge

Ed Devane – Madrugando

Ebola – Painkillers

looking forward to this alright – though I want to add that my set will not be that similar to the Mantua set I’ve played a few times in the last 2 months. It’s gonna be all new stuff and not near as much fun!

Expect some heavy noise and thud!

instead of punk/techno summer festival madoutofit music it’ll be more…uh, less fun? Based on a very unsettling dream I had recently.
    Mountain walk as dusk descends
    Native reserve
    Realisation of predicament
    BEARS!!!
    Run run run run
    Crawl through the undergrowth
    The Being
    Tricked
    Tower
    Malinovska! Malinovska!!!

    Need I say any more?
