Because let’s face it, their songs are way better. Sample some stellar new material from the Grizzlies. It sounds poptastic. Not due ’til April though.

‘Two Weeks’

The ‘Gum has an MP3 rip. Also there’s this – ‘While You Wait for the Others‘.

Fleet Foxes come close in fairness to ‘em. Check out ‘English House’ from Pitchfork Music Festival.

agreed! love daniel rossun’s voice too
although that said, i haven’t quite warmed to their newer tracks yet in the same way i fell for their glorious ‘friend’ ep
and whilst i think fleet foxes are good, i don’t quite get all the hype around them, they’re not amazing by any stretch of the imagination!

they’d win a fight cos their songs are better?

Would Blur beat Oasis in a fight?
Would Neil Young beat all of Lynryd Skynryd?
    Would Notorious BIG beat 2Pac?*

    *of course he would

I absolutely adore English House. Great to see it live, so thanks for the clip Nialler.
Think you could be right about Grizzly Bear pipping them at the post. But in fairness Bon Iver and Iron & Wine would annihilate them all. :-)

Yellow House is one of the best written records of this decade IMHO. Bursting to hear the new record – but I’ll have to let Lablogotheque.net videos of the band tide me over.

Speaking of which, check out the collab between Ed Droste (of GB) and Beirut filmed in Zack Condon’s apt. last year – ‘mazin. http://flyingclubcup.com/spip.php?article6

Don’t make me choose – it’s like bloody Sophie’s Choice!
Except you’re not a big Nazi, of course.

Adore them both, and can’t wait for new GB album. Still, no other album has been played as much as FF around my gaff this year; I keep going back to it…

was there ever a comparison? It’s like comaparing the Spire on O’Connell street to the Eiffel Tower. Fleet Foxes do pleasant vocal parlour tricks. Grizzly Bear do extraordinarily deep music.

there is no contest. Grizzly Bear make music that will be remembered in 50 years. Fleet Foxes make music that will be remembered next year.
