Taken from my Myspace page, which is the only reliable gig calendar tool I have. These are all the shows I’m planning to go to until early June and it’s still probably missing a few.

What do you say? Care to make some more suggestions? What did I leave out?

God you’re so indie it hurts :-)
Cant understand what the fuss about Battles is. Never could.
You’re missing out on Red Snapper in the Sugar Club on Sunday April 13th. Excellent reformed band who I had the pleasure of seeing at the Bloc Weekend in Eng-ger-land recently. Still have the power to amaze. Their drummer is the core of their groove I think, he just lays down this looping beat and the others work around it, I was transfixed by his skills.
(Incidentally I wasnt mad impressed with the Kode9/Spaceape performance at the Bloc either… bit pedestrian and repetitive in places)
And of course the kingpin Ricardo Villalobos is playing in the Tivoli on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend. I reckon that’ll be lots of fun. The crowd will be an interesting mix of bleedinmadoutofits who saw him in Ibeeefa last summer, minimal nerds in t-shirts and square glasses standing around the decks all night, fashionistas who read about him in whatever glossy magazine featured him last, and general pissheads caning it because they have an extra day off at the weekend. I dont want to sound like a mouthpiece for Remedy here (and if I am, would they please fire a free pass my way??) but I think that is one not to miss.
Oh the music that night might be worth checking out too. :-)

Red Snapper I would have dismissed out of hand just because it’s a nostalgia buzz. Maybe a mistake so.

Ooh, and as a reply to x, Gui Boratto is on the same night as Villalobos, and I for one will be attending the former. His Chromophobia release was one of the best albums of any genre of 2007. By the by, unless I have got something very wrong, it seems that Remedy are running both the Boratto and Villalobos nights? Can anyone confirm this, as it makes absolutely no sense to me

We’re playing our (pretty much) debut gig upstairs in Whelan’s on Friday April 18th, Jimmy Cake or no Jimmy Cake. And we’ve got Jimmy Behan as support. Gwan the town!

leigh – what’s wrong with islington?
i lived and worked around there for a while and loved it (the area as opposed to the work)
the angel area and upper st has some wicked little cafes and restaurants, some cool music shops and indie cinemas and some deadly bars and one off shops
dublin has nowhere to compare with that
though admittedly it does get a bit ‘walkabout’ish as you head towards highbury & islington station

i’ve found it the opposite experience to be honest – it’s been rather nasty-ish to me, but right now the fact that i was chased for my life down the road by crack heads in wycombe a few minutes ago may cloud my judgement of this retched place even further
