It also sounds like there were some definite issues with crowd control. If security can't see a wristband (even on a band member playing the show) they'll definitely hassle them a bit to find out what the situation is. Ok, they're dependent on it for their performance, fair enough. Eh, you can't take away your own laptop that no one else is actually going to be using at all?
