Can’t wait to hear your response – on first liste, it’s surpassing the (high) expectations I had for it!
Oh hai!I listening to yr copy!rly!…
sorry.it’s brilliant.absolutely brilliant.it doesn’t kick off anywhere as you’d expect but it’s definitely something very special.videotape is as majestic as it was on from the basement, with added loops.bodysnatchers is another standout.
Fantasic album, much much better than expected.Best Radiohead album in a long time.Great blog and podcast by the way.
Don’t really know what to think yet, have just listened to it once. I like ‘House of Cards’, and overall, I’m surprised a the emphasis on strings and acoustic guitar. There’s a bit of a false start with the intro to ‘15 Steps’, because it leads you to believe that it’s going to be ‘The Eraser’ mark2. Which it most certainly is not.
Radiohead Chill To Tha Max – should be the record’s real name.
It’s very chilled. Some of these songs had a lot more bite live, Reckoner especially. Videotape is still one of the best things they’ve done though. Seems like a bit of a “growing older” album to me. I’ll have to give it time.
I just got it there myself and going to have a listen to it, how much did ye pay for it? I chanced 0p and wasn’t even charged the 45p credit card bill. I’ll have the Discbox on order come next month though.

I paid 7.32 pounds – I’m used to buying albums off Australian iTunes, and that converts to about 50 AU cents cheaper than a standard iTunes album. I’m feeling ok about that, given that there’s no label leeching profits out of that…

Holy fuck. What an immense album. One word: gorgeous. I’m even loving songs I was never really pushed about: Reckoner and Bodysnatchers. Unreal. Yes yes yes!
Sounds to me like a band who are past their prime, who are nonetheless growing old gracefully. Lush production and arrangements, but lacks the songwriting spark that’d take it to the next level. Its still early days, but so far I think: very good, but not quite Radiohead good.
Spot On Marlo – Its OK
Great response dudes.
I liveblogged it on the bus instead of reviewing it.
Or something
