Had a great picnic. Does anyone know who the London/UK act with the female vocalist on the Next Stage was, played Sat and Sun evenings around midnight I think. Nice and cruisy, kind of Portisheady.

Hi 9er9er,

please don't help to promote this newly released album. We're not in the business of letting people hear songs for free. For although MIA likes to pretend that her father's past makes her some kind of majority world radical, she's not a fucking commie you pinko!!! Now go back to Russia ya freaky vegetarian long-hair.

P.S. DJ Yoda was claaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass!!!!!

WITHOUT PREJUDICE

Hi Nialler9,

On behalf of XL Recordings and MIA, we would kindly ask you NOT to post newly released (non preview) MIA files / links on this site. Regrettably, should you do so DMCA notifications shall be forwarded to the site’s ISP and take-down and / or closure action shall follow : naturally, however, we hope that this shall not prove to be necessary.

As you may be aware, traffic on this (just released) album is being monitored and removed … .. and not just by Web Sheriff, but also by music industry associations / attorneys so, if you have to indulge in this activity (which the artist would rather you didn't), then please do it off-line / do not ‘broadcast’ it via blogs or forums ; otherwise your details will be harvested and you may be hearing from the attorneys.

On behalf of the artist’s label, we do appreciate that – of course – you are fans of / are promoting MIA but, by the same token, you must also appreciate that, by posting a pirate copy of the album or tracks from the album pre-release / upon release (or linking to pirate copies), you are potentially causing considerable inconvenience and we are sure that you would not want to be personally responsible (or liable) for all of the resulting damage and disruption.

Thank you for respecting the artist’s and label’s wishes and, if you want good quality, non-pirated preview tracks, a selection from the new album is being made freely available to fans off the MIA's MySpace page (check-out http://www.myspace.com/mia), which you are very welcome to host / post etc. Unfortunately, "Bamboo Banger" is not one of the designated, preview tracks and, as such, it would be greatly appreciated if you could remove this track ASAP / replace it with any or all of "Boyz", "Bird Flu", "XR2" or "Hot That".

Whilst writing, we’d add that MIA and XL are not at all against free music BUT, at the end of the day, it should be (and is) the artist’s decision as to whether or not she effectively allows the unauthorised distribution of her album on-line before / upon its release – as it’s HER MUSIC !! Thank you, again, for respecting MIA's wishes.

As you will appreciate, this e-mail – containing, as it does, a position that is potentially prejudicial to our clients’ open / formal position – is written on a without prejudice basis and, as such, all of our clients’ accumulated, worldwide rights remain strictly reserved : please excuse this required formality.

With Thanks & Regards,

i think you'll like LCD live. they play with a lot of heart. and sound good too- al doyle joined them for their last show in nyc. speaking of.. hot chip disappointing? that Is disappointing. last time i saw them they brought the fire on multiple counts and definitely are about taking chances live. never a bad thing in my book tho it can result in some less-successful outings- which in turns makes the great ones greater... i think i lost my train of thought

Would also recommend Electralane, an all female slightly- Stereolab-but-noisier Brighton four piece.

I don't want to miss a minute of Bjork, but I feel I should check out Modest Mouse to see Johnny Marr weild a guitar in the flesh.

Halfset are playing the Body & Soul stage at 11.20pm on the Saturday so I'll be missing Deerhoof (grr) and the Beasties (have seen them twice before).

Cannot WAIT for Bjork, Marlena Shaw, Bat For Lashes, Ratatat, MIA.

Skipping Hot Chip myself - they were my biggest disappointment last year.
