MIA boyz

Totally awesome annoying dick Zane Lowe had an exclusive first radio play of M.I.A’s “Boyz” last night and The Fader have a radio rip up on their blog. Best “na na na na ” vocal hook I’ve heard in at least .. oh… a week. The new album Kala is not out til August.

dont wanna get into arguments with anyone over this and i realise what i said is combative
but just the shit that comes out of her mouth about Sri Lanka, poo people, the way she hyped & promoted herself up on the tamil tiger shit & the video of her partyin in a third world village with the kids wearin her tshirts.
i just dont buy into that exploitive shit and find it gimmicky and that whole fallout with diplo and the 2 dolla hooka music reference

on the otherhand maybe im just jealous of her good looks

her politics are well dodgy…but her music is so catchy! Albeit way too seductive and overtly exotic to ever be politically useful. Only fools would believe this is some “voice of the third world” shit…

Well I was talkin to MIA in de foggy dew last night, and she said that in addition to her politics bein well dodgy, she is in fact the voice of the third world. She also loves her new tune “boyz” and thinks it’s an annoying pile of shit. after which she puked in her chips. polemic that!

I would call it so much of exploitation. i would call her style more of a wake-up called… it’s like saying “you think life is tough, well you don’t know what some people have to go through” there is nothing with her stlye of media. She executes her feeling toward the issue in a clever way… i you thinks that she is just using third-world countries for media-play then you are terribly wrong. Why would she try so hard to pose a negative impact to society. Please think harder about this decision.

    yes yes i care.
m.i.a. is smart gyal for sure…i like her and don’t think she uses 3rd world countries just for media play but she has a fascination with the “3rd world” that suggest it is something other and maybe exotic to her, and she embodies that in her art n music knawahimean?

Yea … M.I.A. exposes the world for what it really is … because the government covers up so much of what citizens should be focused on. Many kinds of music such as ‘hip-hop’.. (but not all hip hop) Help to create a barrier and blocks our minds from true society… most of it is mindless shatter that draws even farther away from how the world really is and what is really going on. I think many people don’t like her music because it directs their focus on the real world and they see it as ‘rude and grotesque’.
