I haven't really listened to this album, but I caught him live early last year and it was one of the best hip-hop sets I've ever seen. The man was scratching, and mixing while freestyling simultaneously. Not to mention when he incorporated his guitar into the mix. Also check out his "Sounds of the Funky Drummer" album all comprised of tracks that sampled the great JB. I was a big fan of Edan’s first album “Primitive Plus”.
