Beirut must be on the top 5. And you placed CSS in the 19, it must be on the best 10.

Anyway, great list.

The Beirut album will no doubt show up in a lot of lists, it's a great album.
And we all know from experience that when you post a list like this, you'll always get people commenting (and usually disagreeing) on inclusions, omissions and rankings, etc. I posted a mid-year album list that was "off the top of my head" and man, did I get grief for the stuff I'd left out.

Had a look at that link. I wouldn't have any of his top 3 'cheats' in my top 20, let alone my top 3. :)

Beirut can't be in everyone's top 10 otherwise everyone's list will look like this:

http://www.catbirdseat.org/catbirdseat/archives/000647.shtml

I don't read music books at all and right now I am way too busy to be doing anything else before Christmas... great idea though.

Surprised to see Beirut so low down, it was one of my best of the year. The Squarepusher one was definitely a bit of a return to form, some of stuff over the recent years has been hard work (although 'My Red Hot Car' is genius).
You realise I'm gonna have to make a list now, damn you Nialler, damn you to hell!
Have you read any good music books this year? If you have, you might consider writing something for Donogh's Christmas blogger book review round-up.
