BOYRACER

Hello all, Mike here. Today I have a treat for techno afficionados (but maybe not much else for those of you who don’t like repetitive beats as much). I’ve been sitting on this mix for a year or two now, and God knows it’s probably been doing the rounds for a lot longer than that. Nevertheless, I don’t think I can keep it a relative secret for much longer; relative because some of you might already know, love or hate it. It’s short and sweet; 20 odd minutes that cram in 15 or so tunes, pretty much all of which are hard as nails. Personal favourite moments include 5:40 and 10.00.

How I came into possession of it, where it came from and who mixed it, all remain a mystery. Nevertheless, whoever did mix it made use of those fancy pioneer dj mixers, judging by the breaks between tracks. If any of you do know who mixed it (i’ve read on some forums that it could be random dj Nigel Richards or even Jeff Mills or Carl Cox – unlikely), or can identify any of the tunes, or have any positive remarks, feel free to comment below. If on the other hand you are the crash victim of a ‘97 honda civic with spoiler, alloys and go-faster stripes playing this mix, likewise, don’t hesitate to vent your spleen right below.

Ok Theres definately an Andreus Kremer track in there about 3/4 the way through and more than likely quite a few throughout… Not sure about lately but I know he put alot out on and may even own the label ‘Contruct Rythm’ out of Germany distributed by ‘PRIME’ . The whole mix is hard and driving. Good shit, really good movement between songs with clean functional energy flow -How techno is supposed to be mixed (IMO)

    Thanks for sharing

Not sure if it helps but in the beginning of the track some girl says…

    “Garbage Game Set one Wobbler”

If it’s the same Wobbler he is US Midwest DJ.

More of his stuff can be found here along with others.

I remember this from long ago – the dark days before Bit Torrent when there was only Kazaa (non lite). I was searching for Nigel Ritchards, and I got nothing but dozens of copies of this mix. the title was “best techno mix ever – nigel ritchards carl cox frankie bones [long list of more tech DJs]“. Havent heard it since those dark days. Thanks for the revisit!

Well…I was also searching the name of artist of that techno set! I get Jeff Mills & Carl Cox – Hard Techno Set! but I don’t think that is correct! However, I hope that we will get correct answer!

Yow, this must be coincidence. I found some cd’s of an ex of mine and found dozens of livesets… Now one of this sets, one that i really like because of its good tracks, is the one you posted.. So today I was searching on the thing the lady says at the beginning and came out here.. I really want the know some of the tracks used in this mix, so I might still find them on vinyl… I’m on the search now, so when i find something, I’ll post ;)

    He’s from Wisconsin…

    Switch – personality Disorder
Justin Berkovi – Sustained buxom mad chips
Adam beyer on Code Red (2xLP)
    ben sims – Hardgroove
Andrei morant on Compound i think

but i don’t have the whole tracklist… If someone get it, please post it ;)

the new Dj Ricky Worden Techno track (Gabba Days)Has been number one in the uk download charts for the last 3 weeks but because the track has been banned due to xplicit lyrics all the radio stations are refusing to play it still. i have found a website that still lets people download a copy of the banned Dj Ricky Worden track so if you are having further problems trying to get hold of the track then just click on this link and dont bother with itunes who are selling the edited version instead of thr original xplicit one. heres the link for the ,Dj Ricky Worden, track

I have got this on CD

It consists of 1 set by “Wobbler” split into 3 cds (each of around 10 mins in length)

It is not a legitimate CD therefore do not pesture me for a tracklist as I want one just as much as you do. I am well aware that speculation is rife regarding this CD however I can only confirm that Carl Cox & Jeff Mills are not the individuals who created this mix (although I am confident most, if not all of us here knew that anyway). I personally believe that this mix is the creation of Dave Clarke who used the alias “Wobbler” for unknown reasons as I recieved this CD from a close friend of Clarke’s years ago. He claims it was transferred from tape to CD (although I am highly doubtful). I have also heard that it was a late night radio mix from 2000 which could be possible but yet again I am doubtful. I am only posting this so late because I found this to my surprise on Youtube under the name Carl Cox & Jeff Mills – Hard Techno Mix. I instantly recognized it and had a listen but it would seem you have all mostly heard only the first 10 mins (I don’t know… maybe you’ve listened to all of it?). I do not think it is the US DJ Wobbler you all rant about but you never know might be, probably not… I dunno.

Obviously any and all information is welcome regarding this mix

      To ?

I have only 23:22 minutes of it. my mix finishes with a very hard series of “muted industrial beats.
Am I able to get the last 10 or so mins of you somehow???? PLEASE!?!?!?!

If I can. I will upload the mix I have to Youtube.

Yes upload it to Youtube, I would like to hear it. Unfortunatly, regarding the CD, I don’t know where the CD is but if I remember correctly a friend of mine has a copy on one of his old computers. I’ll have a look but I’m not promising anything.

Ok, set 1 was by “Wobbler”, set 2 by “Mr Crispy”, and set 3 by “Spinnin’ T”.

Set 2 is Jungle/Drum n Bass; just search for “Jungle Drum and Bass (Best mix you will ever hear)” like the other mp3’s were titled and you should find it. Starts off with a couple of Dr Octagon tracks overlaid by some dnb.

I’m still desperatly trying to find out any information about the 3rd set. I know at least one track in that mix which is Dave Clarke’s Thunder. The first track is the one I’m after though, but after years of searching am still no closer!!
