    What Camden of yore are you speaking of. The Camden I consider to be the golden days involves Alan Bennett and Morrissey swanning around sipping tea and suggs not doing Findus adverts. The “Dublin castle” bar is still a favourite haunt of mine when I cross the water, stumbling drunkenly home past Regents park has never changed.

    What do you make of the Mercury Rev album? I got the MP3s this morning and its not doing much for me. I think they are trying to create a kind of rock-electronica epic in the mould of Flaming Lips’ ‘Yoshimi’ but its too overblown, too pretentious, too much style and no substance. Will give it more time though …
